Executive Summary
It is important to the Ministry of Justice that they have a clear understanding of any accessibility issues for users of their website. User Vision was commissioned to perform an accessibility audit of the “Check if Your Client Qualifies for Legal Aid” service.
The aim of the audit is to determine whether there are any accessibility barriers remaining on these pages within the service. It is designed to capture any issues so that the Ministry of Justice can make sure that the service can be used by the widest possible audience by complying with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) v2.2 Level A and Level AA.
The audit was carried out on desktop on Windows (using NVDA, JAWS, and Dragon NaturallySpeaking) and MacOS (using VoiceOver). It was also tested on Android (using TalkBack), iPhone and iPad (using VoiceOver). On desktop, the pages were tested on Google Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari using manual and automated testing software.
